Age before beauty: Mark Warnecke, a 35 year-old hospital trauma doctor from Germany, became the oldest world champion swimmer in history at the World Aquatic Championships in Montreal. He's a decade older than every other swimmer in the final. "People have been asking me for 15 years when am I going to quit... I don't know, maybe another 20 years. Why not?"

He says he spends most of his time in the weight room... you think? JJ, I'm inspired, but he's been at the top level for a decade. It's not like an old guy just showed up and beat all the young guys. Now *that* would be inspiring.

I suppose I'm inspired more by his level of dedication and ability to win a medal despite having a "proper job"
