SF Canaries host Pat O'Brien Bobblehead givaway 6/11/05.: This Independant Northern league team is hosting special promotion to honor native son, O'brien. Obviously this was scheduled prior to his troubles of late. O'Brien is scheduled to be on hand at the event and will honor all requests for autographs. Another famous Talking head from South Dakota, Mary Hart, had a simalar promotion one week ago. Reports have it that O'Brien is looking forward to showing people that he is recovered from his little set-back. Hopefully this goes better then the Dr. Phil interview.

I give him credit for having the guts to show up for this event. Many others in the same situation would stay away.

Obviously this was scheduled prior to his troubles of late. Why assume that? Some minor league teams will do anything to fill the seats. I could see some Bill Veeck wanna-be deciding that a bobblehead giveaway for Pat "I'm so into you, let's do some coke and get nuts" O'Brien would be a great PR stunt.

I know it was scheduled prior because it was announced well before O'Brien's troubles began. It was done in conjunction with the Mary Hart givaway to Honor Famous South Dakotans. O'brien is really big in this area,as he is heavily involved in many charities. His mom still lives here, he'll do anything to gain his reputation back here. Thats why he is showing up. O'brien would have filled seats if nothing had happened. O'brien once had dreams of running for Govonor in SD. The guy has a huge ego. Mike Veeck is a minority own of the Canaries, but it still doesnt wash with your theory, rcade. It doesnt take much for us people out here to Honor somebody!
