The Rocket to the Rangers?: It might put the Rangers over the top, but that sure is a high price to pay for half a season with the likelihood that he would not come back next year. Live for today and ignore the future?

Frankly, unitil something happens. I dont really care. Remember last year? The Astros were lousy, the Yanks struggled, and we heard non stop "Rocket to the Yanks" talk untill the Astros went on a tear and made the Play Offs. Then we heard "The Big Unit to the Yanks" dripple untill in finally happened. Texas has too much young Talent to "rent a rocket". They could help themselves in much cheaper ways. I just love it when the media trys to play GM.... That said, Texas may be dumb enough to do it--however, untill--it just all a bunch of hot air!

Here's the original Newsday article that broke the story (and doesn't require Belo's horrid registration process). Not knowing exactly what the Rangers would have to give up and given my disdain for the asshole, I say let him pass. He's pissed on the Rangers parade twice in the past, and I can't think that his attitude would do any service to a young(ish) dugout. Then again, Tom Hicks never really follows my advice, so I expect to see him in Ranger blue late this summer.
