David Kaval (who once visited all 30 major league ballparks in 38 days) and Amit Patel's new family-oriented independent minor league Golden Baseball League starts play on May 26, with angel investor Pat Sajak throwing out the first pitch.

I wonder how many serious prospects would be willing to blow off the MLB structure to sign with them. My guess is this would be a place for overlooked prospects to get some exposure. If I were a hard-throwing young pitcher with some command, or maybe a three (true) outcomes type player, this league could be the place to catch a major league club's eye.

Sounds weird to me, although copying the MLS ownership strategy is a good idea. I wonder how many serious prospects would be willing to blow off the MLB structure to sign with them.
