Golden Globe winners are EPL fans.: Clive Owen, Golden Globe supporting actor winner and Oscar nominee for "Closer", and Ian McShane, Golden Globe best actor winner for "Deadwood", are Brits who, surprise, love football. Clive, rumored to be the next James Bond, is a Liverpool fan. Good taste, that chap. McShane, on the other hand ...

I must say I'm very disappointed in Clive Owen - as probably the only Cov City fan on SpoFi I just can't understand how can he prefer Liverpool (European Champions, Champions League perennials) to his home town club (perennial strugglers, currently at their lowest position for forty years)? Some people...!

Yeah. Bloody glory hunter. Mind you, it was Coventry...

Since I'm a Liverpool supporter who (sometimes) wears the team kit (okay just a jersey) while watching the matches, can I be Bond after Owen? I suppose the dealbreaker is the team's never had a striker, or any player, named Lazar.

Pffft. A Liverpool fan from Coventry? What a complete and utter wanker.

squealy, you don't need the "Liverpool fan" bit there. It's a tautology. :-)

Thanks goddam. Because of that link I finally have some closure over the breakup of the Spice Girls. Apparently it was too difficult for Mel C, Mel B, Emma, and Posh to put their affections for their football clubs aside long enough to make the music that gave joy to the world. Apparently Baby Spice is above advertising who gets her support, and I applaud and admire her for it.
