Olympics security will be tight -- against unapproved brands.: "Strict regulations published by Athens 2004 last week dictate that spectators may be refused admission to events if they are carrying food or drinks made by companies that did not see fit to sponsor the games." Grrrrr. [via boingboing.net]

I named my 3-yr-old after a website (now defunct), so we could pay for his baby food and diapers. I let another dotcom plaster his stroller with their logos. Then I tattoed his arms with an entertainment company's top brands and characters, so I could set up his college fund. I'm shaving his head next week so we can auction of his bald pate for monthly ad placements, to pay for daycare and private school. I think he should be self-financing in about a year.

Everybody's for sale, but now the corporations are insisting on lowering the price.

Currently, 62% of my body is owned by Walmart, but my portfolio manager suggested that we could get to 80% next quarter by split-leveraging my lower-functioning organs.

Weedy, that's gotta hurt.

Ah, Denis Leary 1992. A fine vintage. Another sample? But of course: D'ya hear what John Wayne said when he got lung cancer? Take 'em both out I don't fuckin' need 'em!

Weedy: my portfolio manager suggested that we could get to 80% next quarter by split-leveraging my lower-functioning organs. Weedy, what kind of margins are you making? Which part generates the most cashflow? Which parts are not monetized yet? Let's get your people together with my people and see if we can't change that.

Weedy, if you get to the gym more often I bet those "lower functioning organs" can be brought up to par!

WC2002: The only parts of me that have yet to be properly invested are my colon and spleen. Frankly, the markets' just not responding. And you'd be surprised at what a semi-funtioning kidney can do to your equity package. Really it's a matter of just taking the time and reading the fine print.

Without wanting to sound like too much of a pedant, technically, spectators may be refused admission to events if they are carrying any food or drinks, as you're not allowed to bring your own into any of the stadia.

You insensitive bastard: how can we possibly stage amateur athletic competitions without selling out to big corporate sponsors? I'm going to raise my children to not play outside unless they've secured a national tv deal.
