Boone to the Tribe (?): Aaron Boone has a "tentative agreement" for 2 years with the Indians.
Brother Frosty Tips was actually quite good as the 3rd man in the broadcast booth during the NY/Bosox series. If Bret ever retires, the networks would be smart to sign him up as colour man.

As an aside to the above aside: WC2K2 if you're out there listening: There was talk earlier in the season that the Dodgers were thinking of signing Aaron Boone as a means of adding more power to their lineup. This would require Boone to move to shortstop as Beltre is the incumbent everyday third baseman. Moving Boone to shortstop would require current shortstop Cesar Izturis to sit the bench. To which I reply: HELL NO! Izzy is a defensive whiz who makes up half of one of the better double-play duos today. And he's finally got some plate discipline!

He was the bad guy when he helped the Red Sox on their way out of the post-season. He was the bad guy when he decided to shoot hoops and jeopardize his career, ultimately leading to his release from the Yanks. He was the good guy (warning: google cache)who encouraged Hal McCoy to continue covering baseball when strokes seriously damaged his sight. Is this his break? Does he deserve a break? At least he isn't as wooden personality-wise as his brother old Frosty Tips.
