"Time is not on our side": Kansas City Royals have given up on 2004 and have officially started rebuilding for 2005, after losing a double header to the Expos for a league-worst 21-36 record. Oh, and this guy is officially on the block, so let the trade talks begin!

Good point, I've heard that too from different sources. Since they are rebuilding, they're going to want a decent game-ready AAA player or someone in the bigs now. Tough order to fill for some teams, but I am sure Beltran will be moved soon.

game ready thrid baseman or catcher. Yeah, Gammons had a column a week or two ago that said they were looking for a 3B, catcher and pitcher all at once. He felt the Red Sox could "pique" Allan Baird's interest by offering Youkilis, Shoppach and Abe Alvarez. God I Love Gammons. I think that offer might also make Baird wet himself. Note Gammons' column came after Theo Epstein indicated all 3 players were not available for trade. jerseygirl, you're a big Crespo fan too? Half my excitement about Nomar's return was the mistaken idea Crespo would be gone.

jerseygirl, you're a big Crespo fan too? Half my excitement about Nomar's return was the mistaken idea Crespo would be gone. I'm telling you, how Crespo survived the return of Nomar and Williamson this week, I'll never know. The guy has to have blackmail pictures of Theo. Trot's coming back this week, let's see if Crespo and his .169 avg and .169 obp survive. Hail Cesar, King of Never Walking. I'm completely against trading Youk and Shoppach, for the record.
