Rot in hell, cocksucker. The maximum he can serve is 13 years. Hopefully the civil suit will cost him every penny he has remaining.

why don't you tell us how you really feel? I think it's the right verdict on the 7 they reached on. Bad job thinking to cover up and bad job executing, but negligence, not aggrivated manslaughter. Had he simply left it and called it in he'd have been better off, of course. I wonder what will happen with the negligent homicide thing... retrial, etc.

Am I the only one who doesn't hate this guy? Hey, if you're funny you get slack. Funny guys only 'accidentally' shoot people. Didn't Williams have a great look when the foreman said 'No decision' on the reckless manslaughter charge - like he was confused - 'guilty or not guilty were the options, I was told'. I think this one may bite him in the ass. Just feels that way. Plus this guy has been living charmed for forever: - busted cheating on the SATs, still goes to St. Johns. - Fights with his teammates, opponents, coachs and fans in his 4 years. - still gets drafted. - Has one good year. ONE - and manages to parlay that into a $100 million contract, a book and a TV spot after the blown knee. Karma came to collect.

I just don't like him because he killed someone. I didn't know he did all that other stuff. Great character.

His book "Loose Balls" is by the far the most entertaining book on the NBA I've ever read. He went through some hard times to make it in the pros (both his sisters died of AIDS) but it's long been obvious that he's crazier than a shithouse rat. The shooting incident did not surprise me in the least. As for the verdict, he should have been found guilty of manslaughter. His action was just as reckless as a drunk driver killing a pedestrian, and they send those people to jail for manslaughter. There are several definitions for manslaughter, including: 7.-4. Killing a person while doing an act of mere wantonness, is manslaughter as, if a person throws down stones in a coal-pit, by which a man is killed, although the offender was only a trespasser. 8.-5. When death ensues from the performance of a lawful act, it may, in consequence of the negligence of the offender, amount to manslaughter. For instance, if the death has been, occasioned by negligent driving. I read somewhere that one of the jurors said that Williams "doesn't look like a killer". I'm sure that was part of the mindset that got O.J. off. Remember, future killers: You can get away with killing people if you're good-looking, rich and/or famous. If you're all three, even better!

"He didn't have the look of the cold-blooded killer," juror Angela Pravata, 37, told reporters outside the Somerset County Courthouse in Somerville, N.J. "I didn't see it in his eyes." Yep, that was the actual statement. He should have been convicted of of the lesser manslaughter charge at the least. With idiotic jury members such as that one, I have no faith in our court system, at least when it comes to celebrities.
