The publisher of the Detroit Sports Rag Web site has been threatened with a lawsuit by the town's two newspapers over articles about two of their staffers, columnist Rob Parker and editor E.J. Mitchell. One of the legal demands: "they want the DSR to stop calling Rob Parker 'E.J. Mitchell's bitch.'"
Memo to self: Cancel plans to hire DSR's publisher to redesign SportsFilter.

"If my life depended on a pole dance, you'd better believe that pole's gonna melt." Sorry, I got distracted by the DSR Babes. What were we talking about?

usfbull, at first I thought, damn that Christy V has got to be the hottest DSR babe ever. But then I saw Karembeu and said, Oh My Fucking God. Sorry JerseyGirl. But the two columnists can be MY bitch if they think DSR is going to do anything but laugh about their stoopid lawyer letter.

I wish the site looked a little less tawdry*, so I could feel better defending it. I have the distinct feeling something is going to blow up during this Red Sox season between the Hub's "real" media and the growing force on the Internet. Obviously, Boston's not the only town going through this sort of thing. Philly would be ripe for a breakdown too. Now if I can just figure out how to speed things up. * My initial reaction** was, "That's the city where a bunch of people watched a woman be forced to jump off a bridge. ** Actually, my first thought was, "Did Boston Dirt Dogs sell them a template?"
