baseball card question: when do they take the photos for these cards? i thought the teams liked to get the photos out of the way in Spring Training, but I am not sure. Some of you fellas must be schooled in the baseball card scene.

As a former baseball-card shop owner, I vote for Don Mossi as the funniest-looking man in history. There are great stories behind some of these cards, including the infamous "Fuck Face" incident, which actually featured four different versions of Ripken innocently holding his obscenity-laced bat. These cards were hotter than hell for a while, drawing $20-$30 out of the pack in 1989. Don't bother checking into the Topps Web site, though, which is woefully short on information. This site has some pretty cool card trivia, though.

That makes two if us wfrazer. Mine lasted from 1989 to 1998 ... almost ten years. Jerseygirl: most baseball card photos are taken from the year before.
