Just when you thought it was safe to rest at night and spend time with your family... HE'S BAAAACCCKKK! : Innocent mistake on the part of mlb.com or what? bdd says the files on that page were uploaded on the 16th. You'd think of this was a mistake (like CNN publishing Reagan's obituary) they'd remove it stat, especially with leading wording like "newest Red Sox".

I just don't have the strength for this after those 2 weeks in December. (You can also go retro).

This is right up there with the Billy Ripken error card. Is there such a thing as an error jersey?

When the Sox signed Curt Schilling, I received an email from The Souvenir Store hawking "Kurt Schilling" jerseys. They are probably the #1 merchant for all things Red Sox and they spell his name wrong? Maybe the same intern updates the MLB site.

IT'S ALIVE! (so says espn radio via bdd) "1:20:04, 1:17pm: ESPN radio's Bruce Levine on Dan Patrick's radio show is now saying that talks on the Manny-for-A-Rod trade heated up this past week and John Henry and Tom Hicks either met last weekend or will meet this coming weekend. Patrick says A-Rod was bending Bud Selig's ear about the trade at Sammy Sosa's birthday party in the Dominican a while back and is pressing hard for the deal. According to Levine, who says the deal will happen according to his sources, all parties still want the deal to go through, and Selig's comment was to "get the deal done then call me only after everyone has approved the trade." Patrick says the deal will get done most likely by "this weekend." Alex has not spoken to manager Buck Showalter since the trade talks stalled in December."

I find the revival of this trade rumor coupled with the jersey sale on mlb.com odd.

relax red sox fans. the hot stove cooled off for a couple of weeks and now that the next football game isn't for 2 weeks, the media needs something to talk about. we've heard 'this weekend' for how long?

posted by oliver_crunk at 03:02 PM on January 20, 2004

hey, don't have to calm me down. i'm still apologizing for neglecting people until the Tuesday before Christmas. and ever since, i've been in a blissful state of vague awareness of what the red sox are doing. i find it all odd. the jersey. the renewed talks. the fact that nomar, this weekend while doing his hitting clinic here in boston, said he hasn't heard from the red sox since the trade talks officially died.
