"...right now, if you were to ask me will there be hockey next season, I'd say absolutely not.": The words of Toronto net-minder Trevor Kidd, issuing perhaps the most ominous warning about the pending labour skirmish.
I'd pay good money for the privilege to harass that clown.

Right now, if you were to ask me will there be hockey next season, I'd say absolutely yes. Sure, it might not be of the NHL variety, but it'll be there. I never cared for baseball, so I didn't really care then. But I genuinely like the sport of hockey, and if there were to be no NHL during the dark and cold months of winter, I'd find an alternative. And here, let me tell you, there are plenty of alternatives: Roadrunners, Ice Dogs, Battallion, Bulldogs, Majors, etc... and hey, if there where to be no NHL, imagine what it would do for the popularity of the NLL! Seems to me that the only people that should worry are the poor and unfortunate hockey fans that happen to be in those sunshine anything-but-hockey markets. Those are the teams that will truly be in trouble from an extended strike. Us northerners, though, have plenty of hockey to go around.
