Ya Canucks now have Petey, D-Petey and, I guess, 3Petey...
Crazy season, the rumour is Miller ripped Pettersson for turning up "out of shape" at training camp after he had a terrible playoffs last year. Pettersson reportedly had knee tendinitis last season and his timeline for full recovery was a year, but he could play. Anyway Pettersson, who is an inscrutable Swede, apparently didn't take this well, didn't use his grown up words, and it never healed
All the same Miller was a massive part of the team and its hard to know who might be its emotional sparkplug now - Quinn Hughes is pretty cereberal, Petey is an alien, Boeser has nice hair, Garland is 5 ft 6.
But Miller has 6 years left at 8 million and he plays such a heavy game you have to think he is going to end up playing 60 games a year for 40 points + a lot of truculence.
Everyone was predicting the first rounder would get flipped soon, but it only took two hours for that, so in effect if you boil down the meaningful players you get 3Petey and Chytil for Miller, which is a good return considering JT was reportedly only willing to go to NYR.
Rangers fans look out for the "tossed-in" Melvin Fernstrom, he's still only 18 and is playing regular shifts in the SHL and noted for having an elite hockey IQ in a body of average skills. He could turn out to be a pretty good player.
