MLB incorporates Negro Leagues statistics: Josh Gibson became Major League Baseball's career leader with a .372 batting average, surpassing Ty Cobb's .367. Gibson also became the career leader in slugging percentage (.718) and OPS (1.177), moving ahead of Babe Ruth (.690 and 1.164).
I'm hearing some minor bitching from some folks about this move, saying, "those Negro Leaguers may have been good, but they never played against no MLB players!" Well friend, the MLB players never had to play against the likes of Josh Gibson, Cool Papa Bell, Buck Leonard, or Satchel Paige (in his prime).

Same (as both of you stated). I'm looking at this as progress, education (learning things cannot be bad, can it?)

Tommy, it's 2024. You and I both know that it all depends on who you ask.

I'll admit that I am not well-enough versed in Negro Leagues history, but this sounds like a fine move to me.
