All of Auburn -- not just the football team -- on probation for athletic-related troubles: Auburn University is one step away from losing its accreditation because of various violations, mostly stemming from trustees' meddling in day-to-day affairs. The report by Auburn's accreditation agency specifically says the school needs to "demonstrate that the president has ultimate control over the school's athletic program" and "demonstrate that the president has ultimate control over athletic spending." Geez, under these standards, just about every school in the SEC could lose its accreditation, no?

Brutal. This is the real "death penalty". All of a sudden I don't feel quite so bad about the UW Huskie's tenuous situation. Any Auburn grads want to chime in?

This is what you get trying to run a pro team with an amateur front. Expect more schools to run into the same buzzsaw.

Both my wife's parents graduated from auburn, my wife attended auburn for her fresh and soph years, and I have many friends who graduated from auburn. Most aren't that surprised (considering the current higher ups). I'm sure if they were writing this instead of me they'd go on and on and on and...

I'm sure if they were writing this instead of me they'd go on and on and on and... Well, tell them to sign up and have a go. I'd be very interested to see how it compares to Baylor. At least Auburn has had mild athletic success.

Did some asshole up there actually type "Huskie's?" I believe the answer to that is yes and comes with pancakes.

Well, tell them to sign up and have a go. Sorry Ufez, they're not much on the internet, and by the time I could ask them their opinion this thread will be long gone. Suffice to say, they've been pretty negative about auburn's trustees and officials for a while now.
