It's sort of a bittersweet day.

I lost my "Forget about the guaranteed money, what about Greg Roman?" talking point in the ongoing Lamar Jackson contract / status discussion.

Roman stepped down as Ravens OC yesterday.

I grew up with "you won't have Dick Nixon to kick around any more" and now Roman is fulfilling that role, at least until some other team hires him.

So Lamar is an unbelievable athlete but obviously a non-conventional NFL QB.

Roman appears to be a master of designing offenses that suit his primary QB's abilities as he did with Lamar and Kaepernick. The drawback is if these primary guys get injured it is virtually impossible for anyone else to execute the offense. You simply cannot teach the replacement to be the same athlete.
