If the Bengals lose to the Niners in the Super Bowl for the third time, thereby going 0-4 in the big game and taking decades to do it, I think the Bills Mafia would feel some measure of relief.

What about them Vikings fans? Are the Vikings Super Bowl losses like the Gen X of losing? Everyone forgets about them in their discourses of Super Bowl futility?

You are absolutely right. I will now go take a commemorative Bud Grant cold shower.

I think I overlook the Vikes because of the pleasure I once took at any shortfalls and discomforts in Fran Tarkenton's professional life.

And Super Bowl IV (pre-Tark) remains one of my favorite SB's.

At least Minnesotans got to see the Patriots lose their fifth Super Bowl in the Vikings' home stadium.
