Too bad the Niners can't start a throwback, or throw anything, QB tonight.

I hope the Rams wear something other than their current unis.
I'm so tired of seeing the players look like they were minted in a Taiwanese toy factory.

Those unis are magic! All of the power is in the drop shadow

Speaking of magic, any day that Jalen Ramsey gets humbled, even just momentarily, is a good day, and Deebo Samuel is our man of the hour after turning Ramsey into a rodeo clown during his spectacular catch and run.
When you come to think of it, in the past half year or so, Garoppolo had poorly timed shoulder surgery, got trampled in the press before and after draft day, got publicly demoted by his team in favor of Lance, twisted in the wind as trade bait for eons, then re-signed with the team at a huge discount, was tasked with supporting his successor, didn't get any first team reps, then got thrust into the game, rust and all.
That is a rather fucked up set of circumstances. How many former title game starters would be able to endure all that and keep their head up and go to work every day in a professional manner? How many other players would have had their attitude and confidence totally shot by the experience?
If Groppo plays like he did last night, and is able to keep the offense on the field long enough for the sparkling Niner defense to remain at their best for four quarters and the team goes to the playoffs and wins a game or two, that will be a noteworthy accomplishment.

Weren't the 49ers pretty much a dropped sure-thing interception away from the Super Bowl last season?

Here it is, but I see now that there was almost 10 minutes left to play in the 4th quarter at the time. Still...

If Groppo plays like he did last night
Come on now. Last night's win was all on the Defense and Deebo's heroics. Jimmy was classic Jimmy. When the game got tight he missed 4 consecutive easy passes in a row. The defensive pressure and Stafford's resulting poor play were the deciding factors.
For now I'm will to cut Jimmy some slack as he may not be in game form. But as a Niners fan it certainly looked like the same guy who has been the only weak link on the team in big moments.

I respect the hell out of Jimmy G. beaver is right -- he's been put in a beyond crummy situation and handled it like a classy gentleman the entire time.

Absolutely no question he is all class. And in a crummy situation.
BUT .. the reason the Niners wanted to move on does not appear to have changed. Hoping I'm wrong.

I'm hoping that Jimmy is able to avoid the medical tent and do enough to help the team win.
Run a crisp offense in the first half, put the playmakers in a position to help build a lead, then let the defense and the patented Shanahan run blocking principles close out the game.
Even if they can't build a lead, the Niner D is eminently capable of taking the other team out of their offensive game plan.
If all goes well, the division standings could end up in inverse relationship to the QB's salary, with Jimmy and Geno at the top, Stafford and Kyler at the bottom.

Word on the street has it that the 49ers will be wearing their red throwback unis tonight. Looooove those numbers with the drop shadow. I'm watching the game just for that.
