The Oregonian's Blazer coverage: is slowly getting better. They've kept it interesting with the "Blazers Blog (a weblog)," and the ongoing tension between "the critic:"
I have yet to make this point, and I promise I'll only make it once. For now. Cops pull over black people. ... That does not mean Zach was not intoxicated.and "the fan:"
Character is not so much a Blazer problem as it is an NBA problem. I keep trying to hammer this point home. Kidd beat his wife. Marbury drove drunk. Kobe is on trial for rape. Etc. Oh yea...... Tim Duncan shoved a ref to the floor the other night at Golden State.

I had a dream last night that the Blazers' player's all accepted their roles and won 26 games in a row. No kidding!

Can you guys trade Rasheed Wallace to the Raptors, like now? That'd be sweet.

The Blazers need Jason Kidd. I know that *everyone* needs Jason Kidd, but the Blazers need a pass-first guard without a personality disorder.

Wait, you think Kidd doesn't have a personality disorder? Have you seen his smile?

Well, I guess someone had to go, but I feel like Bonzi may have been the player with the most potential on the team.

Make me GM of the Blazers and I'll run that organization like a business.
I'll burn it down and collect the insurance money.

But there are a few major shortcomings of the Blog, namely that you have to constantly hunt around the site for new posts. They should have links to all the blazers coverage, in reverse chronological order. The fan and the critic are basically bloggers masquerading as reporters. The Oregonian is taking their cues from the changing face of publishing on the Internet, but they could make the process of reading simpler still.
