With the first tropical storm of the season already having made landfall, I was expecting a thematically appropriate Hurricanes - Lightning series.

May 30 was a tough day for sports fans in the area. First, the Pack somehow get left out of the NCAA baseball tournament and the Hurricanes had themselves convinced that just showing up in PNC Arena was good enough to be declared the winner of a game. /sigh
The thing that really pisses me off about all of that is that the NCAA had a golden opportunity to showcase the one and only Tommy Tanks, but noooooo, baseball isn't supposed to be fun. Carolina fans are saying that it's because the State 9 probably refused to be vaccinated again. /sigh kinda funny, really, but still...
