I saw the Panthers score and immediately thought it was all Cam Newton's return energizing the squad. Then I saw the game film and found out it was some Newton and a whole lot of McCaffrey. Panthers D also played pretty hard.
A week or two ago, backup QB's like Colt McCoy and Mike White were the toast of the league as they led their teams to wins. They have come back to earth mighty quickly. It's not easy being the every week starter at QB.
Every time there's a tie, there are always a few players that didn't know it was possible to play to a tie in the regular season. Too bad the Lions didn't have the same reffing crew that they had on Thanksgiving Day in 1998, when the coin toss for OT was wrongly awarded to the Lions, to the misfortune of...the same Pittsburgh Steelers as it were.
I listened to yesterday's game call not because I was deeply interested in watching the Lions and Steelers but because I get nostalgic hearing the voice of Chris Myers, who reminds me of radio play by play guys from the 1970's and thereabouts.

Something strange happened yesterday. I had this feeling of...what do you call it? Happiness? The corners of my mouth were pointing upwards after the Panthers and Lions games.
