Well, it seems the Sam Darnold era in Charlotte is starting to wind down. Instead of neatly grabbing the feel good story of the season by re-signing the newly-vaxxed Cam Newton, there are rumors floating about that the Panthers are going to trade for Deshaun Watson.

And have the Motor City Kitties starting taking bites out of their opponents knees yet?

Any bad QB karma that besets the Panthers is due in part to how they treated Steve Beuerlein after he did such a solid job for them.

You don't like Beuerlein? You're gonna get Weinke. See how you like that.

I think the main problem with the Panthers is the loss of McCaffrey. Darnold looked like he could run a competitive offense when McCaffrey was available.

I don't know why someone doesn't sign Newton to be a multi skill Taysom Hill weapon. It would really be that bad in the locker room if he wasn't the guy taking most of the snaps?

The loss of McCraffrey is also showing the lack of coaching intelligence/imagination on the team. It doesn't help that the o-line is awful.

A few weeks ago, I would have said that Rhule wouldn't be one of those college coaches that ended up going back to the college game. Now I'm not so sure.

Maybe OC Joe Brady isn't the young wizard at the pro level that everyone said he would be.

Meanwhile, as the old saying goes, if you tossed all your troubles in a pile with those of Kansas City Chiefs fans, you'd take yours back in a heartbeat.

Charlie Parker had a nightclub named after him. Fosbury had a high jump named after him. Reggie Jackson had a candy bar named after him. Michael Jordan had a line of footwear named after him.

But none of them ever had their own personal January 6th event as Kyrie Irving did.
