It doesn't make sense for Carolina to spend what it would take to get Gilmore from the Pats, as Horn has looked great and is not gone for the year.
The concern is that Richard Sherman might become enticing to the Panthers. He didn't look anything like a reliable DB the last time he played. It wasn't just skills falloff. It was his pre-snap positioning and route awareness. He was close to being an every down liability.
He was lost at sea against the Chiefs in the Super Bowl.
Plus, given the team's snakebitten history, if a player has any sort of domestic issues, the last place they should go is Carolina.

So, the Panthers dominate a lowly Houston Texans team last night, but in doing so lose Christian McCaffrey to a hamstring strain and lost this year's eighth overall pick, Jaycee Horn, to multiple broken bones in his right foot.
Pulling the hammy whilst running, I can believe, but broken bones in a foot from running? It looks like he kinda stubs his foot while running weirdly, but that's crazy that he broke bones doing that.
May have to go drown my football sorrows with some spicy fried chicken at lunch today.
