What's the minimum number of points an offense needs to score to blame a loss on the defense, and vice versa? Maybe it's just me but I wonder about this kind of thing ;)

Tennessee and Minnesota, who just played each other this past Sunday, have both shut down their facilities due to multiple positive Coronovirus tests in the Tennesse camp.

What's the minimum number of points an offense needs to score to blame a loss on the defense, and vice versa?
Back in the Dungy / Gruden glory days of the Buccaneers, the awesome Tampa D was their calling card. They didn't score a ton of points in the late 90's with guys like Shaun King running the offense.
Dean of the D Warren Sapp set the tone for the Bucs offense by famously saying something along the lines of "just get me 16 points and we'll handle the rest".
It might have been 16 or it might have been another number but it was in that ballpark. They got pretty good at holding teams to 20 points or less.

Recall the Giants winning a Superbowl with Phil Simms when they rarely reached 17 points. And often it was LT and the defense wreaking havoc and scoring many of the points themselves. The offense simply needed to kill time and not turn over the ball.
Today's game has changed. If you are playing Mahomes a 17 point lead with 3 minutes to go isn't enough.

The Broncos aren't sure who will start at quarterback in Thursday night's fall classic against the Jets.
Except it won't be Blake Bortles.

NFL DC's have two full years of game film on Mahomes.
They have one full year of film on Lamar.*
Looks like that one year of Lamar is enough to work with, and no matter how many years they have of Mahomes, it will never be enough.
*(Plus a transitional half year when the offense hadn't been built around his skills).
