I enjoy watching movies at the time of year that they're set in. This month, my annual thrill is seeing Day of the Jackal for the umpteenth time.
I can smell the exhaust from the vehicles and taste the food. Even though it's set in the 1960's it was shot in the 1970's and has a lot of 70's vibe to it. I was lucky enough to be in Europe in the summer of '71. This movie feels like home on a period culture basis.
Usually, you have to pay to view online, but for the patient and frugal, there's currently a free version chopped into 2 dozen short autoplay segments up on YT.
File under: motor sports, martial arts, riflery.
