If NFC West and Pac 12 trends continue on their present courses, there's a case to be made for Chip Kelly going back to college ball sooner rather than later.

Angels sitting on Kelly's shoulder, whispering in his ear:

Spurrier: Go back to the conference you once dominated and make 'em suffer some more.

Petrino: You can leave the pros anytime you want. And you CAN go home again.

Rick Pitino: Polarize an entire region of the country and go coach your former school's bitter rival (Oregon State).

Pete Carroll: Don't go to a school with a manic, diagnosable fan base (LSU, Texas, Auburn, Penn State). Go to a place where you can have fun and enjoy yourself (USC).

Dabo Swinney: Get you a coordinator or Associate HC who can RECRUIT. (But you can't talk to Venables).
