A long read but an important one on sports governance, from the local amateur club all the way to professionals and TV deals. Author Gideon Haigh focuses on Australia, so you might not get some of the references, but I found this essay to reflect a lot of my feelings about sport and society, especially in relation to the times I've been involved in sports administration.

Brett Favre has picked his wife Deanna to introduce his induction speech at the Hall of Fame this year. It's only the second time a spouse has done that, following Mike Singletary's wife Kim in 1998.
