TIL: the 1972 Pittsburgh Pirates were a perfect 75-0 when leading a game after seven innings. Ironically enough, their season ended after the Reds came from behind after the seventh inning to win the game, 3-2.

This story on SI photographer Walter Iooss Jr. contains a factoid about The Catch I hadn't heard before: "Not a spectator inside Candlestick was seated -- including a young 49ers fan by the name of Tom Brady."
