If they sign Kelly, they won't have to worry about trying to get some sort of value for Kaepernick. Chip will want that guy. Gabbert would have to take his now proven ability to move an offense down the field a bit to someone else's system.
(I was careful to say "sign" Kelly, not "land" him. Ain't about "land" with the Pooh Bear any more. He's one and done in the coaching coup department.)
