I know it's Marchand and thus doesn't count, but Prust should at least get another fine for saying that.

I'm saddened to say that the phrase "McNeese State - Definitive NCAA champion" has failed to materialize as they lost to Sam Houston State in the second round of the FCS playoffs.
Since any eventual champion of FCS will have transitively beaten them, can't we just pass that title to the ultimate FCS champion if Clemson doesn't win the playoff?

The Sam Houston Bearkats lost to McNeese State earlier this year, so we just get stuck in a loop.
See, this is why we can't have rematches in the playoffs.

My logic is that it has to be an undefeated team, and among ALL of the FBS and FCS teams out there, only ONE of them remains: Clemson.
Now, there are two undefeated Division II teams:
And three undefeated Division III teams:
So, as of right now, it is theoretically possible for three teams (one from each division level) to claim the title of "undefeated" and "champion" (using win-chains to beat every other team in the NCAA).
Example: If Alabama wins the FBS title, and Linfield wins the D3 title, then you could say that Linfield is the (un)disputed (depending on the D2 playoff results) NCAA champion because of this chain of victories over Alabama.
(Before you ask, there are zero undefeated NAIA teams, so they are out of the running.)
