Luke Shaw of Man U Suffers Broken Leg in Champions League Match: Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw suffered a don't click this broken leg from a tackle during a Champions League match today against PSV Eindhoven. Hector Moreno caught the leg of the 20-year-old while making what The Telegraph called a "full-blooded tackle."
I watched the game broadcast last night of the injury and aftermath. The announcers on Fox Sports 1 had no idea what had happened to Shaw, even as the injury stoppage went on for nine minutes. The second angle of the replay showed it was a leg break, but they never noticed and no one in the broadcast team apparently slowed it down and looked at it off-camera. The half time crew didn't know it either, or chose not to report it.
Are there no sideline reporters at a Champions League soccer match who inquire about injuries with team personnel? We get that as games occur in U.S. sports.

I hope Shaw has a speedy recovery and gets back to full mental and physical fitness as soon as possible. In addition to the grisly nature of the injury, this is particularly sad for Shaw in that he finally seemed to be rounding into form (as evidenced by his appearances for United and England recently) after a year in Van Gaal's doghouse and on the treatment table for less traumatic injuries.
