Champions League Draw.: Now that Newcastle has exited to the UEFA Cup a bit earlier than last year, the draw is set. Arsenal look set to travel quite a bit, Manchester United will play at least one not too far away, and one of Chelsea's newly bought superstars will face a former team. Thoughts? Predictions?
trox, hard to argue with your picks; other than Manure/Celtic, not much of interest although we'll have to see what games ESPN2 decides to show (they had the CL here in the US last year).

I can predict with 100% certainty that Liverpool will not win it this year.

No, WC, but we will win some European silverware this year, if we ever get off the schneid and score a few goals.`

I think there will be surprises. But Real Madrid must win it all. Becks, Figo, Zidane and Raul are too much to handle.

TonyM: After watching the European SuperCup today, I have to rate AC Milan chance to repeat as fairly high. Sure it was Porto they played but even with hardly making an effort to push into offense, they were completely dominant. and what a bench! RM will miss Makalele in that regard.

Ok, I was totally off base with my predictions from last year's groups, but will I let that stop me from doing it again? Of course not! (All predictions are guaranteed to be wrong or your money back.) Group A: This group doesn't have a lot of sex appeal for me, but I don't really know that much about the French or Dutch leagues. Bayern Munich and Celtic advance. Group B: The cold weather group. Even though Aresenal and Inter both have to travel to much colder climes, I think they are too strong and will advance. Group C: Not too much to say. Deportivo La Coruna and PSV Eindhoven advance. Group D: The opposite of Group B--all warm weather. This also is perhaps the most interesting. Juventus and Galatasaray advance (even though leaving Sociedad out is tough). Group E: Another battle of Britain? Manchester United will probably take Rangers totally out of the competition. Man U and Stuttgart advance. Group F: Real Madrid advances. I'm not sure if either Porto or Partizan Belgrade can maintain the momentum they have from last year's UEFA Cup and upsetting Newcastle. I think one of them will and will advance. Group G: Can Chelsea buy success in the Champions League as well. This far they can. Chelsea and Lazio go through. Group H: Pretty straightforward. AC Milan and Ajax. Ridicule away!
