Moving Toward a Unified Theory of the A’s Offseason: FanGraphs thinks Billy Beane is trying to assemble a larger pool of lesser talents; Grantland mostly agrees and suggests it's an impressive piece of resetting forced by Oakland's salary constraints.
Love this on both fronts (Lindbergh and FG). The abundance of quality analysis out there is mind-boggling.

Interesting read. I like the idea a team could optimize for WAR with a Lake Wobegon strategy where everyone is slightly above average, but I wonder if that's what Billy Beane is doing here. He might just be getting the best he can get in a salary dump.
