Another NCAA member covers itself in glory: in women's basketball. While Kansas State finally relented in the case of Leticia Romero, the University of Alabama is not being so kind to a player who

  • already graduated

  • wants to get an MBA but did not get into Alabama's business school

  • has a brother with end-stage renal disease and requires kidney dialysis several times per week

All while benefiting from the same situation with a grad student from FSU who's competing for the starting QB job.

Well, fuck her for wanting to actually continue her education and be near her brother as he probably dies. Doesn't she understand how important women's basketball is in the state of Alabama?

Yeah, more seriously, what a load of shit. It is a terrible move by Alabama, and even worse by the NCAA not to force it to let her go home.

You've stated the major difference: she did not enter the business school while the FSU student did. Players are STUDENT-athletes, not just athletes. Allowing her to continue playing while not a student would open a large can of worms.
