Russia is the new Unofficial Men's Ice Hockey Championship Title holders after winning the IIHF World Championships this afternoon.
There were 6 title changes with 6 different teams holding the title at some time this tournament:
Canada (reigning champs after the Olympics)
France (3rd time)
Italy (1st time!) (the first title holder to later be relegated to a lower division at the end of the same tournament)
Denmark (1st time!)
Canada (34th time)
Finland (14th time)
Russia (8th time)
There have now been 19 different nations (where USSR/Russia/Belarus/EUN are all "different", like Czechoslovakia/Czech/Slovakia) that have held the title at some point since 1920.
Highest currently ranked nation to never hold the title: Switzerland (7th).
Lowest currently ranked (existing) nation to have held the title: Poland (24th).

Red Sox can't handle losing ten games in a row and get upset when the opposition keeps playing when they've obviously given up*.
In the Sox' defense, it was David Ross who complained. The poor bastard probably has Stockholm Syndrome from sharing a position with Brian McCann.

*The Red Sox third baseman was playing way behind the bag and was essentially giving Escobar the free stolen base, and made no move to cover the base when Escobar started running.
What makes this wonderfully hypocritical of the Red Sox is that in last year's playoffs, the Red Sox stole second base in the 8th inning while leading 8-2...on the same Tampa Bay Rays.
Further revealing the ridiculousness of the "unwritten rule", the Red Sox got into a position in the 9th inning where the tying run (David Ortiz) was in the on-deck circle. I assume that if Escobar hadn't stolen the base, the Red Sox would have done the honourable thing and not tried to tie the game up.
