It must be insulting to Odom but I thought I'd read that the Clips were waiting to see what the market value was on him. If someone offers him a max contract then they'd match it. But they aren't going to offer him a max contract if they don't think the rest of the market would (looking back at Jamison and Carter getting their big fat contracts a few years back and how they now look like big fat lucky guys to have been offered so much). It could backfire by making Odom cheesed at the team but I don't imagine he has many options. Patience, I am sure he'll get his money and he will remain a Clipper.
