The world's second greatest batsman is retiring.
Something NSFW going on in the sidebar. Not sure what exactly. They appear to be doing it wrong.

I was rooting for a spectacular crash on Verlander's part, but after the 6th I started rooting for the no-no; had he pulled it off, he'd have racked up 130 pitches and probably been a little off in his first game of the ALCS. Suffice to say as a Sox fan fan, id rather have faced the As.
I feel bad for the A's, as this is now their what, 6th 3-2 ALDS loss since 2000?
2000 Oakland Athletics Lost LDS (3-2) 2001 Oakland Athletics Lost LDS (3-2) 2002 Oakland Athletics Lost LDS (3-2) 2003 Oakland Athletics Lost LDS (3-2) 2006 Oakland Athletics Lost LCS (4-0) 2012 Oakland Athletics Lost LDS (3-2) 2013 Oakland Athletics Lost LDS (3-2)
Someone on SOSH pointed out the A's have faced Pettitte, Clemens, Radke, Pedro and now Verlander twice.

Second year in a row that Verlander has shut them down in Game Five.
