My updated/modified "Last Man Standing" spreadsheet.

It's a Google spreadsheet that lists all of the defunct or moved MLB franchises, and the last man to play in the majors from that franchise/team, and the last man living from that franchise/team.

For example:
Baltimore Orioles (AL) - 1901-1902
(Became New York Yankees)
Last man playing in the majors from that franchise/team: Roger Bresnahan (1915)
Last man alive from that franchise/team: Andy Oyler (1970)

New York Giants (NL) - 1883-1957
(Became San Francisco Giants)
Last man playing in the majors from that franchise/team: Willie Mays (1973)
Last man alive from that franchise/team: There are 38 players still alive (and a separate sheet lists their names)

At the bottom I also list the last man playing and/or alive from the defunct leagues (NA, UA, PL, AA, FL).

(This is what happens when you are laid off and you have pay continuance for another 12 months.)

Need to update the list of remaining 'spos.

I'm going to wait until the 2013 season is up and running before I remove anyone from the list. I'm sure there will be other players from the Expos that won't make the majors in 2013, and there are a couple of them still in the minors (Brendan Harris, Claudio Vargas, etc.) that might make it back.

The Raptors are close to dealing Jose Calderon, Ed Davis and a future 1st round pick to Memphis for Rudy Gay. I'm not sure what Bryan Colangelo thinks this will solve (they're hardly a playoff team, so not sure what taking on a $17 million wing will do in the next two years) but it does show his continued lack of value for interior players.

Ed Davis was one of the only marginally efficient rebounders the team had (averaging 13 and 8 the last month) and now this lineup can feature both Rudy Gay and Andrea Bargnani shooting low percentage jump shots 15 feet from the basket with nobody to collect boards.

Colangelo must have state secrets to have sucked this long without getting his ass canned.

When MLSE fired Brian Burke earlier this month, it must have scared the crap out of Colangelo. Maybe this is a last ditch attempt to save his job.

I would have thought any deal would have shipped Bargnani out the door. Everytime a Raptor fan sees him on the floor, they get all mopey.

If you still don't have plans for the big game, good news.

The Pistons are rumored to be involved in that trade, as well. Supposedly, the Pistons get Calderon, Raptors get Gay, and Grizz gets Austin Daye, Tayshaun Prince, and Davis. There were no picks involved in the report I heard...

Holy fucking shit.

A Pistons fan takes in the news of Prince being traded.

It ended up being a second rounder and they sent "cash considerations" to Memphis - it seems to me though, that if improving on the wing was a priority, they could've just flipped Calderon to Detroit for Prince and Daye and done that without taking on a huge financial risk like Gay. They have a ton of money now locked up in players with that same skillset playing either 2 or 3.

Whoa! owlhouse! That had to have been a wild ride! But for them it might have been "Wheeeeeeeeeeeee!"
