Hidden: KOBE DIDN'T TELL LAKERS ABOUT SURGERY: STOCK NEWS DAILY is reporting that Kobe didn't tell Lakers about his surgery.

That's frankly amazing. I mean, I was shocked when I read that he had even HAD knee surgery, I had no idea the knee was causing discomfort. I wonder if he did it so that players who were thinking of joining the Lakers wouldn't take his health into condition (after all, he already had the shoulder surgery). Still, not cool. Possibly not the most uncool thing he did while in Colorado, but still...

Yeah not that it is his biggest problem right now, but it might be technically a contract violation to not notify the Lakers. Remember Sprewell was suspended by the Knicks for not reporting his finger injury.

Just how reliable is this source? There have been comments from the Laker front office - your generic, "Kobe's been a model citizen...yada yada...we'll wait and see...yada yada" - but I can't find one mainstream media report that the Lakers didn't know about this surgery. Athlete's often have low impact, almost maintenance procedures on their knees. Sorry, rl55z, but on this one I'd like to see a little more credible source than this.
