USA Today is reporting that Art Modell has passed away at the age of 87.

Beating a dead horse, beIn Sport is on my Comcast guide in HD. Finally I can watch Ligue 1, warts and all! Anyone recommend a team in France?

All of a sudden I'm an optimist about the Dallas Cowboys again. I only saw the fourth quarter, but that looks like a great defense with those corners.

If you like the Yankees, then Paris Saint Germain.

If you're a Maple Leafs fan, then Rennes, (56 years in the top division now without winning the title). They're the Ajax of France, relying on their academy to produce players.

Marseilles have an English connection, having been the home of Chris Waddle and now... err... Joey Barton. Barton aside, it's a really nice place to visit too.

If you like the little guy, then Evian are only in their second season ever in the top division and wear a very fetching pink.

Ha, as a neutral I shut the game off thinking, "Typical: Cowboys win in September, Giants lose." Get excited when they win in December.

Thanks Mr. B. I'll definitely check out Marseilles just to see if Barton brings a cigar on the pitch and keep a watery eye on Evian as well. Looks like Bordeaux vs. Nice is coming up next. The problem with watching La Liga/ Ligue 1/ Serie A is I usually wind up wanting to go there. Thankfully many EPL team homes don't offer a siren song.

Then definitely Marseilles or Bordeaux!

Bordeaux are playing Nice on BeIn right now. Nice's shirts are quite... Nice.

What channel is it on your system?

Dish's guide hasn't quite caught up to the whole BeIn thing yet. There's a six hour block today that just says "soccer."

Thanks for that.

Based on Twitter, it looks like the channel number varies wildly on Comcast systems. And this is all a bit of a false alarm: took me an hour of having it on in the background before I figured out it was the Spanish version. Supposedly the English language version is coming soon (which matters because the programming is different).

Then again, it turns out you were in Boston recently (from the In Stadium thread), so if you're around here, it's in the mid-700s, which means I can't tell if it can do HD or not until they air a game (it was all Barcelona TV human interest crap yesterday).

Thanks, fatty. But I was in Boston to see Liverpool, I live on the other side of the country ;) I found it though, in the 600s, which here is the range for Spanish language channels and not HD. Since the soccer news show that was on when I found the channel was in Spanish, with no English second audio channel, that seems appropriate. Oddly, the promo aired when they went to commercial was in English but then the commercials were Spanish.
