A scheduling quirk: including this season, the Patriots have played Peyton Manning's team 14 of the 15 seasons he's been in the league (2002, the first season after the conferences split into 4 divisions and the Colts left the AFC East, was the only miss). If the Pats and Broncos finish with the same divisional position (and Manning's neck holds up), this will continue for at least 2 more years.

What's the team-v-team record in that time?

Interesting site for matchups

If I counted correctly (my scripted deployment was so slow for some reason that I had nothing better to do), the Colts are 6/17 in the regular season and 1/3 in the playoffs against the Pats in that time.

Wow cixelsyd - that's a great site - thanks!

The problem now is that the Manning brothers have conspired to compete against the Pats on a tag team basis in an effort to lessen the elder's torment.

Since 2005 the Manning bros are 8-5 vs the Patriots (Eli 3-1, Peyton 5-4). The Mannings have 3 Superbowls and NE none.

I had two messages, one in English and one in Spanish, on my Comcast cable box telling me I was the proud owner of beIn Sport, America's least-well-capitalized cable channel, as of today.

But no mention of a channel number and if they're airing soccer, I can't find it.

We'll be back with the full compliment of picks for this week on Friday, but here's Wednesday's season opener:

Dallas (+3.5) at NEW YORK GIANTS (44.5): Former Cowboy WR Roy Williams has become a regular on "Storage Wars Texas." Maybe if he looks long and hard enough, he might find Dez Bryant's brain. I hope he hits his blocking assignments as hard as he hits his momma. Giants 26, Cowboys 17.

Bobby Valentine appears to be losing it, or has lost it.

@ wfrazerjr
All I ask is that you try a little harder than Costaki Economopoulos

Well, his Packers slogan is pretty darn funny.
