Heat, Pacers Exchange Flagrant Fouls: With 20 seconds remaining and the Miami Heat up by 37, Dexter Pittman tried to behead the Indiana Pacers' Lance Stephenson with an elbow to the neck. The flagrant foul, which Pittman followed with a wink captured by the broadcast, was the third of the game.

How on earth did they not call that a Flagrant Two foul?

They didn't call a flagrant two on Haslem because it was to "even out" Hansbrough's flagrant one on Wade, which the arena and Heat bench thought should be a flagrant two.
The Pittman foul, I have no idea.

Pittman shouldn't play again this season. I wonder if the NBA will investigate whether he was sent in the game to do that.

That one should have been a flagrant two as well.

I doubt he was. They already got Hansborough back for his hard foul and they were up 30 something so I don't know that the team would have much anger left in the tank. No, I think this was just Pittman trying to be a tough guy in his limited time on the court.

I completely agree, but I also think it was knee-jerk "oh crap, we need to even out the calls" thing.

Suspensions for Haslem (1 game) and Pittman (3) but none for Hansbrough.

Hansborough's foul was upgarded to a flagrant 2 but no suspension. Seems about right for everyone. Pittman could have gotten more I guess.

Those pants warrant indefinite suspension or even possibly a lifetime ban.

Those pants are pretty cool. Like most men, Wade looks great in pink.

That was a really gutless game, especially given the fact that Pittman's total contribution in the playoffs to date totaled 6 minutes. It was clearly a hired goon sent out to finish a job.
Haslem missing a game is really going to hurt the Heat, I think. They don't really have anyone to put contribute offensively in the post.
