Charles Pierce has some pretty strong opinions about that ridiculous school that wouldn't play a girl in baseball.

Pierce also had an interesting write-up on the Nebraska coach who opposed the anti-discrimination initiative. He is obviously trolling SportsFilter for story ideas.

If you'll pardon the not entirely undeliberate pun, Oh Lord.

"Did this lawyeress check her hairdo before coming into court? If she did, she is a distracted lawyer. If she did not, she is one distorted woman."

I don't have face or palm enough for this story.

Kyrie Irving is your NBA Rookie of the Year.

I think I would rather hear Charlie Pierce say (in whatever way he's saying this time) "--but it gets better!", than hear just about anybody say anything.

(except perhaps, "Congratulations, you just won the Powerball.")

I don't understand what your issue is with this. Pierce is quoting Bishop Richard Williamson, a leader of the Society of St. Pius X, to show how out of touch they are. Or am I just misunderstanding you?

I think so. I need to facepalm in response to the Bishop's comments, not in response to Pierce's quoting of them.
