Amare Stoudamire out after postgame injury: After last night's Game 2 in Miami, New York Knicks forward Amare Stoudamire punches a fire extinguisher case, lacerating his left hand badly enough to require stitches. The Knicks lost to the Heat, 104-94 and are down 2-0 heading back to New York for Game 3 Thursday night.

Hitting stuff when you are frustrated always seems like a good idea until you actually hit it.

That was so stupid. Now he can't play, and they need all hands on deck.

I'd like to give Amare the benefit of the doubt.
He musta thought there was an emergency.

The emergency is the Knicks blow and shouldn't be on the court with the Heat.

Not a smart move and it appears the Knicks are dead anyway. They had a glimmer of hope with Linsanity, his injury and now this, pretty much seals their fate. Of course Maimi is probably way too much for them even if they were at full strength. Actually, even without these problems, I was only hoping the Knicks could just make Miami work a little harder to soften them up for the later rounds but with Rose out in Chicago, Miami might cruise to the finals and get lots of rest along the way.
