Cubs lose! Cubs lose!: and this time it's in court! Remember when the Dodgers pulled a blitzkrieg into the Wrigley stands a few years ago over a purloined chapeau ? Here's the outcome.

Tony Bruno had this guy's lawyer on his show this morning; she said that the Cubs would almost certainly appeal the decision.

Despite having runners on second and third, the Cubs still managed to lose the game 6-5 after the Dodgers cleared out of the stands and returned to the bench. Haha. It has absolutely no bearing on the court case or the incident, but the Chicago writer still decided to get a quick shot in about the futility of the Cubs. That's quality reporting!

In the words of the master himself, Tony Bruno: Beautiful. Yeah, I loved the shot also, grum. I also like the way the Sun Times couldn't help but point out that the fella who actually DID steal the hat was, ahem, a Tribune employee.

Aren't the Cubs owned by the Tribune? Or some parent company owns both of them?

You got it, Hootch. The Wrigley family controls all of it, I believe, and the tight-fisted bastards are the main reason the Cubs have sucked all this time. Well, that and a propensity for playing guys like Keith Moreland.
