LA Galaxy Win MLS Cup: Landon Donovan scored in the 72nd minute on a pass from Robbie Keane, sending the L.A. Galaxy to a 1-0 win in the MLS Cup over Houston Dynamo. David Beckham, whose pass to Keane helped set up the goal, may leave now that his five-year contract has ended. "A lot of people said if we didn't win tonight it would have been an unsuccessful five years," he said. "It's nice to keep a few people quiet."
That was a dull, weary match, not helped by conditions that the Graun described as "a cold and wet November night in Glasgow": without Brad Davis, Houston came to defend and look for something on the break, and LA squandered many of the chances presented to them. No complaints about the result, or that the season's best team won the big prize, but it wasn't a spectacle on the pitch.
I wonder if Donovan will have another couple of months in Everton come January?

That silver ball is unbelievably ugly and hard to see.

Voting Beckham the comeback player of the year was a nice touch.
I mean runner up Charlie Davis only nearly died, which isn't impressing anyone.
