Brewers Bomb Cards in NLCS Opener: A six-run fifth inning led the Milwaukee Brewers past the St. Louis Cardinals 9-6 in game one of the National League Championship Series. Ryan Braun, Prince Fielder and Yuniesky Betancourt each hit two-run homers. Pitcher Zack Greinke got the win despite giving up six earned runs. ESPN said that Fielder's homer left his bat at 119.2 mph, the fastest exit of a home run this season.

That fifth inning should cause everyone on the Cards, Tigers and Rangers to fear the beer.

If everyone maintains their current production and Rickie Weeks starts hitting like he's capable, they're going to be tough to beat.

But I'm still not a believer in Yuni B - he had some really great at-bats yesterday, but I swear I must have dreamed those. My wife even asks me "isn't he the first-pitch-pop-out guy?"

And I'm feeling slightly shaky about our pitching beyond Yovani. Greinke lucked into a win last night, and Marcum and Wolf have been Suppan-esque so far this postseason.

Still, a fun team to follow.

If they can pitch like Suppan did in the 2006 playoffs, I'd be ok with it.
