Maybe McIlroy needs to be issued a Schwartzel exemption. He could use a respite from that connection.
First there was the Masters. Then the two flew off to play an Asian tournament where I believe Rory was again going well and then had another rough go of sorts and fell out of contention (have to go back and check the tournament results on that one).
Then yesterday Rory takes the injury while playing in a threesome with none other than Charl the Charm. Wrong kind of luck going on there.

Alistair Cook out for 294. Bugger.
Scored more than the entire Indian team combined.

Cook should have gotten his triple-century, that was simply an unbelievable performance. India have been absolutely dire this whole series.

I love the BBC's fashion of spinning everything negatively - their report on Cook's innings says "Cook falls six short of 300."

"Cook fails to outscore every Indian who has ever played the game put together: England in decline?"

How did Alistair Cook score his 19th Test Century without me even noticing? He was crap in the 2006-7 Ashes (along with the rest of the Poms except Strauss) and I probably still judge him on that.

I presume you've blocked the 10/11 Ashes series from your mind.

Oooopsie, Rory McIlroy bit off a bit more than he could chew yesterday in the USPGA. The MRI revealed a "strained tendon" in his wrist, but he hopes to play on given that it's "six or seven months to the Masters" so he'll have time to recover if he makes it worse.
