Bill Lee neither forgives nor forgets.

Roberto Luongo is stealing the Stanley Cup Finals.

Also, #%@ the Canadian Media and the rest of the haters. Fact is, Vancouver is the most skilled team in the league and can only be beaten by being dragged into the gutter. Fine, that works, "that's hockey". Whatever. Burrows and Kesler would be GODS if they played for the Bruins and Lapierre vs Marchand is just a saw-off. Chara hit on Pacioretty vs Alberts on Horton. Saw-off. The sanctimony of the Bruins fans and Bruins apologists is pretty nauseating and I really hope they puke watching Henrik lift the cup tonight in the Gardens - so much better in this case than winning it at home.

That said, tonight's game is 50:50 and the Bruins do have a good shot at the cup still, better than most teams down 2:3

I never said that. Obviously I want the Canucks to win. Consider it pushback against the love-fest for the dirtiest team in a decade.

Oh Good Lord, get a handle on yourself. "love-fest" for the Bruins? And they're the dirtiest team you've seen in 10 years? Stop watching whatever the Canadian equivalent of Fox News is. I'm assuming it's "Harold and the Purple Crayon".

Ok, now *THAT'S* kind of dirty/ unlovable :)

posted by yerfatma at 08:22 PM on June 13, 2011

Boychuk just dirty played Mason Raymond out of the game. And of course the Bruins fans are totally classless about it. When Steven Stamkos got hit in the face with a puck in the last series Bruins fans cheered. No class at all.

Wow, this is getting out of hand quick.

Still plenty early, though.

Well, Edler just showed the Canucks can match Boston dirty hit for dirty hit...

posted by MeatSaber at 08:41 PM on June 13, 2011

Can anyone remember a series where one team was so dominant at home yet fairy even away?

posted by Bonkers at 08:48 PM on June 13, 2011

Yeah, it's like a tale of two teams. You can say what you want about Luongo, but the offence is so flat on the road, they'd lose with Tim Thomas in net.

Roberto Luongo is stealing the Stanley Cup Finals.

The only thing he's stealing at the moments is splinters off the bench.

You do know this is hockey, right? Also: Nathan Horton. As I recall, Stamkos missed about 12 seconds, and that cheering came after Stamkos endorsed Al Qaeda and suggested Obama should be tarred and feathered.

Canucks problems are 100% mental. Hard to believe, but it's a recurring theme with them. They should fire their psychologist! It's a team meltdown, Luongo could have been better but he got hung out to dry by the whole team.

Other than the pucks in the net. Seems like Bruins have some issues too, given they've potted 18 goals at home and 1 on the road.

Except weren't those goals perfectly stoppable? Having your goalie be a leaky sieve, again, is hard mentally. After that first short-side goal that should have been stopped, it's "Aw shit, really, AGAIN?!?"

I hate to split hairs, but it's 16/2, actually. And they've been in every road game...can the Canucks say the same?

posted by MeatSaber at 09:26 PM on June 13, 2011

The only thing stopping the B's on the road is an awful PP and bounces going the other way. What's Vancouver's excuse?

That Boychuk hit looked like a bad tangle but not the kind of intentional boarding we've seen from Vancouver.

posted by kokaku at 09:46 PM on June 13, 2011

I'd give Boychuk a marginal pass on that, he had Raymond in a tangle but drive him into the boards anyway. But then, such a weird hit and an apparently weird injury - bruised tailbone or something I bet.

Canucks PP has been just as awful or the Bruins would have to be reining in their cheap little hacks and whacks a lot more.

Also the Edler hit on Peverley on the icing play was unacceptable. Ugh.

posted by rumple at 09:59 PM on June 13, 2011

As far as the Canucks PP, credit where credit is due to the B's PK.

As far as cheap little hacks and whacks, the teams are probably even strength there.

posted by kokaku at 10:03 PM on June 13, 2011

Obviously someone said something to the teams after game four because the bulk of the whackjobs are over with. It's been much cleaner in game five and so far in this one.

posted by rumple at 10:17 PM on June 13, 2011

Still time for one of the greatest comebacks in Stanley Cup history?

Maybe if Tim Thomas packs it up twenty minutes early.

Tell it to Burroughs and Bergeron.

Fancy a flutter on Ascot today? There's a 33/1 shot running in the wide-open 17:35 that might be worth an each way punt. Ascot is only a mile or two down the road from Wentworth; how could one resist betting on a horse called Ballesteros?

posted by JJ at 04:53 AM on June 14, 2011

What's an each-way punt? Does that mean Jeff Feagles is bisexual?
